Gregori Maiofis is a third-generation Russian artist, who combines painting, printmaking and staged photography to create works that capture the look and feel of old-master prints. His work is held in public and private collectors worldwide. Lenin’s Science Makes One’s Hands and Mind Stronger is a work from his Proverbs series which uses text from a dictionary of folk proverbs published in the Soviet Union in the mid-1950s. It was selected for inclusion in the 250th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
